Setting up GoDaddy email accounts on Enjin

Setting up GoDaddy email accounts on Enjin

1.You need to own a Custom domain and a Office 365 Email provided by Godaddy on their control panel.

2.Please direct yourself to your Enjin domain management panel, or click this Link.

3 First, you must set up the MX records, so please locate the MX records area on this page.

MX Record 1

  • Priority: 0
  • Hostname: Leave this blank
  • MailServer Hostname: yourdomain*.mail.protection.outlook.com. (Do NOT forget the "." at the end or it will not work.)
  • TTL: 1800
  • * Godaddy provides you with a MX record unique to your domain, be sure to check with Godaddy directly to find out the needed MX record.

4. We are now moving to the sub-domain area directly above the MX area and we are going to add 5 CNAME records. Please add the following records:

SUBDOMAIN RECORD 1

  • Hostname: autodiscover
  • IP Address / Domain: autodiscover.outlook.com. (Do NOT forget the "." at the end or it will not work.)
  • Record Type: CNAME
  • TTL: 1800

SUBDOMAIN RECORD 2

  • Hostname: email
  • IP Address / Domain: email.secureserver.net. (Do NOT forget the "." at the end or it will not work.)
  • Record Type: CNAME
  • TTL: 1800

SUBDOMAIN RECORD 3

  • Hostname: lyncdiscover
  • IP Address / Domain: webdir.online.lync.com. (Do NOT forget the "." at the end or it will not work.)
  • Record Type: CNAME
  • TTL: 1800

SUBDOMAIN RECORD 4

  • Hostname: msoid
  • IP Address / Domain: clientconfig.microsoftonline-p.net. (Do NOT forget the "." at the end or it will not work.)
  • Record Type: CNAME
  • TTL: 1800

SUBDOMAIN RECORD 5

  • Hostname: sip
  • IP Address / Domain: sipdir.online.lync.com. (Do NOT forget the "." at the end or it will not work.)
  • Record Type: CNAME
  • TTL: 1800

5. Once you've added the CNAME records, you'll need to add 2 TXT records.

These will be given to you by Godaddy so you'll need to contact them directly on this.

6. Similar to the TXT records, the SRV records you need to add are provided by Godaddy and you'll need to contact them directly for this.

Keep in mind, the '@' when used on the Enjin DNS panel should be replaced with a blank. '@' is your root domain and keeping the section blank when on the Enjin DNS panel will yeild the same results.

Save, and your're done! Go to "email.yourwebsite.com" after waiting ~30 minutes and you will be able to log in, view, and send mail.
If you're unsure on how to use your new custom email, you may want to contact GoDaddy directly on this as they own the mail server.
