Using the HTML Module - Source Editor

Source Editors

The various Source (Code) Editors of the new HTML Module have replaced the old single "HTML Source" tab of the older module. If you have older HTML Modules on your website and have recently decided to edit them, you will likely find your code split among these sections. The different sections are as follows:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Javascript

Make sure to only insert HTML Code in the HTML Editor, and CSS in the CSS Editor etc. This is to prevent problems with the styling of your module.

Why split the code?

Custom CSS/JS interferes with the styling of the new WYSIWYG (Visual) editor, and so needs to be separated at this time.

You can edit the style of your code editor windows from the "Preferences" option in the top right hand corner. From here you can change the following:

  • Theme
  • Height
  • Font Size
  • Display Line Numbers
  • Enable Line Highlighting
  • Enable Word Wrapping
